Practicing and driving the principles, seeking transparency, working together and divulging these activities: these are a few of the pillars of Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). The PRI is a UN initiative that seeks to encourage investors worldwide to incorporate the social, environmental, and corporate governance variables to their investment analyses. PREVI helped prepare the principles and was the first Brazilian pension plan to join the PRI, in April 2006. In May 2008 it held the first workshop for signatories, which brought together 14 pension funds and six fund managers.
In June 2008, PREVI’S CEO, Sérgio Rosa, was elected to substitute former Investment director José Reinaldo Magalhães as Latin America’s representative on PRI’S Board.
Building the Brazilian PRI Signatory NetworkPREVI is part of the group, coordinated by the Infraero Institute of Social Security (Infraprev), which is in charge of attracting new corporations and investors to join the Principles.
PREVI granted Social Responsibility awardThe 13th National Social Security Award was granted, in November, to eight Brazilian personalities and institutions who made relevant contributions to the development of the society. PREVI was awarded in the Social Responsibility category for its performance in the PRI (Principles for Responsible Investment).
The award is granted by the Cultural Institute of Social Security (ICSS).
More transparencyPREVI took on a leadership role in Brazil in the Emerging Markets Disclosure Project, an initiative driven by international investors that seeks to enhance corporate transparency in emerging markets insofar as the divulging of socioenvironmental responsibility information is concerned.
